AI Use and AI-Assisted Content Policy

Grand Asian Journal of Food and Nutrition (GAJFN) recognizes the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in research and manuscript preparation across food science, nutrition, and environmental sciences. AI tools may be used to assist with language refinement, formatting, or literature searches, provided the author verifies and takes full responsibility for the accuracy and originality of the final content. AI must not be used to fabricate, falsify, or manipulate data, results, or references (including citing non-existent sources). Authors are responsible for ensuring AI-assisted content which does not infringe copyright or constitute plagiarism.

Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in the research or manuscript preparation process, including but not limited to:

  • Drafting or editing text (e.g., language polishing, grammar correction, structuring)
  • Generating or analyzing data
  • Creating figures, images, or graphical content
  • Conducting literature searches or summarization

Editors' Responsibilities

Editors reserve the right to request clarification or evidence regarding the use of AI tools in a submitted manuscript. Manuscripts found to contain undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI including fabricated content or citations may be rejected, or subject to correction/retraction if discovered post-publication, in accordance with GAJFN's ethics and retraction policy
